Elon Musk'ın Çılgın Projesi Starlink

Elon Musk’s Crazy Project: Starlink

Starlink, a project that started by SpaceX and aims to provide internet service from satellite. Today, internet service is provided by cable systems placed under the oceans and underground. Therefore this situation causes some problems in internet speed and transmission. Obviously, Starlink was designed with the aim of finding a solution to these problems. Satellite launches for the project, which started in 2015, continue at full speed.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Within the scope of the Starlink project, 42.000 mini-satellites will be positioned at space. Also average distance will be 500 km between satellites and the earth. With the satellites sent in 2021, the total number of satellites has exceeded 1000. The company launched another 60 satellites this week with the Falcon-9. The project is expected to be completed in 2027. If all satellites are sent, Starlink will have surrounded the world.

Starlink offers 100 Mbps download speeds with 20-30 milliseconds latency.

The most important goal of Starlink is to provide very high speed internet all over the world. However, the speed of this internet provided via satellites will not be equal all over the world. Especially weather conditions will be very effective on Starlink. The project currently offers a download speed of 100 Mbps with a delay of 20-30 milliseconds. Also, it is planned to be used in Europe before 2022. Amazon and Facebook are known to support the project. The cost of the project exceeded 10 billion dollars.

Users will pay $99 per month for internet service.

Another issue that people wonder is how much Starlink will cost. The fee set by the company is $499 for the modem and its installation. After paying the modem fee, users will pay $99 per month for internet service. Unfortunately, the service is not available in all countries currently, so the fees are determined in dollars. It is a matter of curiosity how much the price will be in Turkey.
